NYC Travel Recap
Ahh, I absolutely love traveling back to New York City and have done so about 4-5 times over the last two years (I’ve lost track!) I usually go with Lamiya, have been with my family but this time was new going with a large group of over 20 friends!! It was such a fun weekend and one that I’ll never forget 🙂 Here’s a quick peak at what all we did during our quick trip up to celebrate Vishal & my birthday.
Friday
We got to NYC pretty late on Friday evening and grabbed pizza nearby at NYC Pizza Suprema! Sad to say that we didn’t snag Joe’s while we were there so this is definitely still on my list for next time!
We went out to SOLA’s in East Village which is a fun time! The drinks were pretty good and reasonably priced for NYC and it wasn’t too crowded for a Friday night which I appreciated. Plenty of space to dance it out hahaha 🙂 Thank you to Sachi & Rasika who surprised me with not just one, but THREE birthday gifts. If you see me wearing a cute rose gold bracelet or mini hoops, that’s all them!
Saturday
After waking up and getting ready we tried to snag bagels from Ess-a-Bagel before seeing the longest line for a bagel shop I’ve ever seen!! I should have figured since it’s Saturday morning but definitely adding this to my future list as well. If it’s one thing that I’ve learned about food in the past, if there’s a line out the door, it’s usually worth it!
We opted for coffee from Macaron Café instead before walking over to my favorite, Bryant Park. We grabbed Kati Rolls from nearby and I finally got to try Wafels & Dinges which has been on my list for a while! We got the one with ice cream and safe to say it didn’t disappoint 🙂 Thanks to Sachi’s former coworker, we got to visit the top of the Empire State Building with free passes where we didn’t have to wait at all. This was another NYC thing that I hadn’t done before and it was SO PRETTY from the top! I’m so glad we got to go and this was one of the highlights of the trip for me for sure.
We wandered around Rockefeller for a bit, stepped into and marveled at the nearby church (I appreciated the quiet away from the hum of the city for a bit), I took my routine trip through the Kade Spade store and then we went back to our hotel to get ready for dinner. We had dinner at the CUTEST place out in East Village called Supper. Since we had such a large party, we got our own private dining room that was through their wine cellar. The place was fantastic and I actually wish I had taken more pictures of it because the room was so great with wine bottles all around and chandeliers. Dinner was one of my favorite parts of the whole trip seeing 20 something people gathered around the table eating delicious Italian food. If you go, definitely get their chicken parm or their lobster ravioli!! And get the tiramasu for dessert, it’s the best I’ve ever had and I’ve tried a ton! We went out that night to 230 Fifth Rooftop which is probably the most basic place to visit but it was a ton of fun and we all loved the views!
Sunday
Sunday was spent taking it easy eating brunch at Penny Farthing / Linen Hall which had great food that hit the spot after a night out! We walked off the slump and went out to the High Line since a bunch of people hadn’t been before. It was super in bloom and just a gorgeous day out to relax and walk around. We walked through Chelsea Market as well before heading back to our hotel to grab an early dinner at OBAO before hopping onto the bus home!
I didn’t take a whole lot of pictures because I wanted to just soak in and enjoy the experience but here are some fun candid iPhone snaps I did take!
Thank you thank you to everyone that came to celebrate, it was such a fun trip and I can’t wait to travel with you guys again soon 🙂
