If you’re a wedding photographer, your ability to consistently deliver stunning, professionally edited images is the lifeblood of your business. That’s why wedding photographers need a professional editor to ensure every image is polished, creating an exceptional client experience and freeing up time to focus on what matters most.
However you may be on the struggle-bus when it comes to not letting your editing queue pile up – especially during the busier shooting months 😵💫
I’ve identified 3 key pillars to nailing down your editing workflow:
1️⃣: Efficient Workflow
Your editing workflow needs to be streamlined and efficient.
The key here is to:
- Create a repeatable process — Develop a step-by-step workflow for your editing process.
- Use presets and actions — Leverage Lightroom presets and Photoshop actions to speed up your editing.
- Batch process images — Edit in batches to maintain consistency and save time.
2️⃣: Advanced Editing Techniques
Leveraging advanced editing techniques can significantly enhance your photos. Think of this as elevating your craft beyond just how you shoot.
Focus on fine details: Pay attention to the small details that make a big difference, like the edges of your images, your horizon lines, your composition while cropping and matching your reference photos to deliver a cohesive gallery.
Learn advanced tools: Familiarize yourself with advanced tools and features in your editing software. Are you using things like Reference Mode? Or Match Total Exposures? Or a Contour ShuttlePro to speed up your time?
3️⃣: Consistent Quality
Maintaining consistent quality across all your images and your second shooters images is crucial!
Develop your signature style: Create a unique editing style that sets your work apart.
Quality control: Implement a quality control process to ensure every image meets your standards.
Client feedback: Actively seek and incorporate fellow photographers feedback to continually improve – or help speed up the process because sometimes we spend WAY more time on our own images hemming and hawing over the temperature of a photo that even another photographer wouldn’t trip over.
Here’s the thing. Most wedding photographers only hone in on ONE of those—if any. And would rather put their time honing OTHER skills in their business.
Hey I get it, editing is maybe NOT exactly your favorite. And that’s ok. You wanted to be a PHOTOGRAPHER, not an EDITOR, right?!
That’s where I come in. I’ve worked to be able to replicate the trifecta FOR my clients. THAT’S when you consistently deliver stunning, professionally edited images in record turnaround time that keeps your clients recommending their experience with you to their friends and family over the years.
I take over ALL of these aspects for each of my 1:1 Editing Clients. I created the Editing Experience based on my years as a photographer
And fun fact: I understand firsthand what it’s like to work alongside another editor because I in fact hired one in 2019 myself!
So I designed the experience for you to:
👉🏽STREAMLINE your editing workflow so you can focus on shooting more weddings/sessions.
👉🏽Enhance your editing EFFICIENCY with advanced techniques.
👉🏽Ensure CONSISTENT quality in all your images – getting a 2nd pair of eyes is so underrated!
👉🏽NOT require a minimum number of weddings or images per catalog to take the booking pressure off
I’d love to work with you and become someone who’s on your team to handle all of the LR catalogs throughout the year! You can learn more HERE or shoot me a message on Instagram if you have any questions about the process!
