This past weekend I had the honor of traveling back home to photograph Melony & Mike’s wedding out at the Old Hickory Club in Woodbridge, VA!
We started out the day with Melony’s gorgeous heirloom details including a set of pearls that her grandma had worn to her very own wedding as well as her sister-in-law’s veils. There were so many cherished family ties throughout the entire day including homemade wine for not just Melony & Mike, but for each of their guest tables!
The beautiful day was pulled together by their fall-inspired color palette with terracotta oranges & eucalyptus greens accenting the fall colors with their guests playing the part by dressing up in the color palette as well! For a couple that slides between the two poles of dressed down and playing video games with takeout to dressed-up for a night out on the town trying out a Michelin, this was definitely on the more formal end of the spectrum and a day they’ll never forget! Their fall bride & groom portraits are some of my all-time favorites and you’ll have to scroll down to see THE most perfect fall leaf toss (shout out to Caroline and Rob – their MOH & BM for making it happen)!
I loved the speeches that Melony’s sister, their best man and Melony’s dad gave and was laughing along the entire night! We even snuck them out with their family for a “faux exit” right before their photography coverage ended for a sparkler send-off before they went back in to party away the night!
After so many years together, Melony & Mike were most excited to tie the knot and celebrate their love and remind themselves of how much they love each other among their family & friends! I hope the photos do their beautiful day justice!! It’s very rare that I’m actually IN a photo at a wedding!! To all my AOE girls, thank you for all of your friendship throughout college and beyond, so grateful to have a photo with you all!
