CHARLESTON
I absolutely love this little town and fell in love with it about two years ago when my family went down for a quick weekend trip right after I had graduated from college. I would absolutely love to come down for a Charleston wedding because I fall in love with the place a little more each time I visit! We had a little bit more time during our initial stay 2 years ago and were able to spend an afternoon wandering through Magnolia Plantation. However, this trip with my friends was definitely short and sweet. I loved being able to stay in an Airbnb rather than a hotel this time around since it felt like we were really LIVING close to the city! Our place was about a 25 minute drive to downtown as well as the beach!
We got into town a little bit later on Friday night but decided to go into the city for dinner. We tried for Fleet’s Landing but ended up eating across the street at Pawpaw which was SO good! Pallavi and I split the scallop risotto with the wine which was one of my favorite meals while we were there! We got to experience a bit of the downtown city life when we went out around the City of Charleston College walking up and down King Street which I hadn’t previously been to! The Stars rooftop was super chill and a fun place to hang out and get drinks.
All of Saturday was spent really enjoying and strolling through the downtown area! We got brunch at the famous Poogan’s Porch (you have to go!!), took our time meandering through Charleston City Market (found Callie’s Hot LittleBiscuit), went to the Waterfront Park, got gelato at Belgian Gelato, stepped into what a guy claimed was the best store in Charleston (deliii), saw Rainbow Row and Battery Park! This time around we did actually get dinner at Fleet Landing and if you go, I recommend getting their Seafood Pasta!! Three of us got it and loved it!
Sunday was a slow day spent eating on the water for brunch at Boathouse and then tossing around a frisbee and enjoying the Isle of Palms beach for a bit before we headed home! Although it was a super short trip, it was definitely a lot of fun and it makes me so excited for the rest of this summer’s adventures! If you ever need any other recommendations or places that I was looking at while creating the itinerary, hit me up! Places that I want to try the next time I’m there are Eli’s table, Jeni’s ice cream, Charleston Crab House, Breizh’s Crepes, Kaminsky’s, and the frosé at the Skinny Dip. But until next time, here’s some fun pictures from our trip 🙂
Some iPhone pictures from the trip as well!
