​Marketing your business through social media gets a LOT of hype!

But what about all the ways to quickly grow your business WITHOUT stepping onto the hamster wheel of creating social content?

I loved getting to chat with Jontell on the podcast this week about her take on creating a strong brand for your business & how to quickly grow your business without the pressure of constantly being on social media!

Jontell and I met before I actually started my business at UVA through our mutual love of photography. Ever since, she’s been such a huge inspiration and cheerleader behind my own business!

Although we run our photography businesses VERY similarly, we market our businesses in different ways!

Over the years, Jontell has consistently and successfully leaned into building her business WITHOUT social media!

I had her on the podcast to share all of the ways she’s been able to successfully do so & even pivot her business into branding photography so well! Here’s a look at what we covered during our conversation today!

04:50 – “I think some people don’t realize the importance of really having a strategy with their brand photography. Having headshots is wonderful, but really having shots that can show people what you’re doing in your business is really important for your website and social media.”

08:03 – “Studying the work of people that I admire was helpful with weddings, branding, and is helpful now with products, in a way that along with education. Whether it’s investing time or money into it, is probably what I’ve found to be the most helpful and to get good quickly.”

13:20 – “If you are going to try something outside of social media, don’t be afraid. I know that for the longest time I just thought that if I wasn’t posting on Instagram that my business would fail – and it hasn’t!”

15:39 – “I would probably tell myself to not be afraid to do things. I think everything in my business that I was afraid to do, whether it was raising my wedding prices or even launching brand photography…everything I was afraid to do ended up working out really well, and I think a lot of times my regret is not doing it sooner.”
