Esther actually came to me since she had seen Neha’s graduation portraits from last year and I’m so glad that she did since I got to photograph GMU graduation portraits this year! I’ve been photographing UVA graduation portraits around the University of Virginia for a very long time but I always love the chance to get to explore other local college campuses to take graduation portraits each year! I’d never photographed at George Mason University before so I liked being able to explore the campus with Esther, her family, Luna her doggo and Michael, her boyfriend! We went to a couple of iconic spots on the campus and although I’ve had plenty of experience blocking out PEOPLE from shots, I’ve never had to worry about backing into a ROBOT or blocking little whirring robots out of pictures!! GMU has a new food delivery service that’s delivered to students by these white rolling bots that drive around in little squads all around their campus. It was so cool to see in person!

Esther is an Economics major at GMU and I loved that it was incorporated in her stole! Her mom actually bought the cloth for it FROM Peru and made her stole for her which is INCREDIBLE!! It was the most personalized unique stole I’ve ever seen! Esther did her own makeup and looked FLAWLESS!! This girl is going into Mitre’s rotational program and I’m so excited for her 🙂 She’ll get to go through five different rotations and hopefully find an area that she really loves. Although she almost started the DAY after she graduated, she lucked out with 1 month to relax before she takes on the real world. I know that her positive attitude, smile and obviously hard work ethic is going to take her places out in the real world. Esther, thank you SO much for letting me capture these for you!! I actually had a small gift that I totally forgot to give to you but it’ll be making your way to your mailbox very soon 🙂
