I think Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays! It gives you just the break you need to recharge before you go back to college for a couple of weeks of finishing up projects, essays, and hours on hours of studying and finals. This break, I got to go home a little early. I ended up traveling back to Northern Virginia with my best friend on Saturday afternoon. Sachi drove up to UVA from Virginia Tech (the one time our breaks (kindaa) aligned). We had lunch on the Corner and then headed back and straight to a dinner party. I went back so early to attend a welcome event for a company I recently got an offer from which was pretty exciting. It was good to see the office & hear about projects that they’re working on that I might some day be involved with!

Thanksgiving day was spent with family and the day after was spent with friends. My group of friends back home has made “Friendsgiving” an annual tradition. It’s always a potluck dinner where I get stuffed to brim with turkey, green bean casserole, delicious mac and cheese (my favorite kind of food), stuffing, mashed potatoes, pie, and so much more! Sonali was at dinner and brought along Prathik to meet a lot of our friends for the first time amongst all the lively chaos. It was nice to get to meet him there but I enjoyed getting to spend time with both of them the next day during the photoshoot at Lake Anne in Reston. It was a chilly and crisp fall day where we caught the end of the fall leaves. I loved that Sonali brought along her peacoat because look at just how it pops in all the pictures! The cold weather definitely made for lots of snuggles to keep warm and cute pictures, so I say it was for the best!

We ended the photoshoot by grabbing cappuccinos to warm up in a nearby Coffee & Wine Bar. It was nice getting to hear about how they met at VCU through mutual friends and from spending time together when they were snowed in together just this past year. Maybe we’ll get a bunch of snow again this year and you guys can cozy up and look your pictures together and reminisce about the time you guys have spent together.  Sonali & Prathik, you guys are so happy together (even when its so cold out!!), it makes me smile so much. It was such a pleasure to taking your pictures & I wish you happy holidays!
