For as long as I’ve been an entrepreneur, I’ve had a passion and realized the importance of personal development helping myself and others reach their goals. I’ve always known that I wanted to share my knowledge and experiences with others, but the thought of public speaking used to make me feel incredibly anxious and bring up a lot of doubt.
So when I was given the opportunity to speak at the Reset Conference about goal-setting, I was both excited and terrified. This was a goal of speaking at a conference breakout session had always seemed far away, and I wasn’t sure if I was ready to take the leap.
As I worked with my coach, I began to realize that I was more qualified than I gave myself credit for. She helped me identify my limiting beliefs and negative self-talk, and showed me how to reframe my thoughts and focus on my strengths.
Through this process, I began to see that I had valuable insights and experiences to share with others. I also began to realize that sometimes we have to take the leap before we feel completely ready, and that growth and success often come from pushing ourselves outside of our comfort zones.
When I stepped at the front of the room at the Reset Conference, I felt nervous but also incredibly proud of myself for overcoming my fears and limiting beliefs. And as I spoke about goal-setting and shared my own journey, I was struck by how much the audience resonated with my message and was inspired to tackle their own goals. I realized that by sharing my experiences and insights honestly and vulnerably, I was able to connect with others and help them see their own potential. And that was an incredibly rewarding feeling. Whenever we’re able to step into our light and our gifts, it causes a ripple effect and allows others to feel safe to do the same.
I am so grateful to Rebekkah and Kellie, the hosts of the Reset Conference, for giving me this opportunity to speak and share about goal-setting to a larger community of photographers. And I am especially grateful to Tracey Jazmin, whose coaching and support helped me overcome my fears and achieve a goal that once seemed out of reach.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from this experience, it’s that we are often more qualified and capable than we give ourselves credit for. And sometimes, all it takes is a little push outside of our comfort zones to achieve our dreams and make a positive impact on the world.
So if you’re struggling with fear or self-doubt, I encourage you to take a step back and reframe your thoughts. Focus on your strengths and the value you bring to the table, and remember that sometimes, the only thing holding you back is your own mindset.
And who knows? With a little bit of courage and a willingness to take the leap, you may just surprise yourself with what you’re capable of achieving this year!
