I wanted to film an updated video taking you BTS of my marketing routine since social platforms have changed so much since even the start of 2020.

Right now Instagram is really pushing short form video so this means they’re placing an emphasis in the interaction and engagement that Reels specifically are getting.

In the past the algorithm was favoring consistency and quality content and I think this is still true. Reels that get good traction in the first hour or so they’re published tend to do well but they also have a larger shelf life and will keep gaining views weeks later!

I have had to switch my scheduling strategy to work on how to batch create and schedule out Reels.

Every time I use the app I save Reels audios and ideas that I have on my phone. Hit the save for audio or add to my Copy Bank

Then every month I’ll lay out a few outfits and batch record reels videos. I don’t edit or add captions or anything else. Pro tip: Use the timer within the Reels recording to record different clips!

Then each month, I roughly plan out which reels I want to post on which dates in Planoly. That’s when I’ll type up a caption on my computer and add it into the planned Reel in an app called Planoly. You can use Planoly on your computer & your phone and it sends you a notification and helps you copy your caption, your reel & cover picture whenever it’s time to post!

Stay until the end of the episode where I’ll show you behind my computer screen of how I do this!

Then each week, I will edit the videos to have the right text in different parts of my reel. I’ll make sure that the caption and cover photo are ready to go and each reel is scheduled so that Planoly will give me a push notification when it’s time to post!

Each day I’ll post the Reel and then spend some time replying to any comments that come in!

Something I’ve had to shift in my mindset of sharing these reels is to remember they’re going out to a cold audience that doesn’t know me. For them to be strategic in my marketing strategy I have to make sure I’m tailoring them to a very specific audience and plan accordingly!
