Kedar & Megan had their pre-wedding ceremony at Martin’s West near Baltimore over this past weekend! I had never been to Martin’s West since it’s a little farther in Maryland, but it blew my expectations out of the water! They have these massive chandeliers that are works of art throughout the entire property!! Kedar & Megan got to celebrate their Indian pre-wedding ceremony to get ready for their official wedding day this weekend in Charlottesville at Early Mountain Vineyards. I loved being able to capture a part of their story though as they celebrated with their family friends 🙂
Their ceremony, which they decided to call a pre-wedding ceremony, rather than an engagement ceremony since they’ve been engaged for a while now, was unlike any other I’ve ever photographed! Kedar and Megan worked with Mr. Gore, who did a great job officiating the ceremony, to create a custom ceremony that really was tailored to them and their story! He toggled back and forth between reciting the prayers and explaining each part of it in English as well! Their ceremony mimicked having the groom’s family go to the bride’s town and the agreement to move forth with a marriage. They even had a “first look” of their own where after being separated by the curtain, they got to “see” each other for the first time and accept each other’s proposal for marriage. At the end of the ceremony, Kedar helped Megan walk across 7 piles of rice promising 1 truth for each set of rice. I had never seen this before, but I liked that they had built this into their custom ceremony. Mr. Gore mentioned that these two will truly be making the world a better place through their marriage as Megan works as a nurse and Kedar works at NASA!
Kedar & Megan, I hope you have an amazing time celebrating with even more family and friends as you are officially married at Early Mountain Vineyards in Charlottesville this weekend!
Their ceremony was so great!
