These are tips that I share with each and every one of my branding clients so they get the most out of their branding session!
1. Choose outfits that complement your brand colors
Stay on-brand across all platforms by choosing outfits that align with your brand colors. Remember, consistency is key, whether it’s your website, social media, or any other space where your brand shines. Feel free to play around with the shades of your brand colors with your outfits! Let your brand colors be repeated consistently across the board for easier brand recognition.
If you don’t have clothing in your brand colors — be sure to bring a few props that *do* incorporate your colors so we can visually pull those through for your shots!
2. Choose outfits that you feel comfortable and confident in!
Confidence during your branding session is KEY! We want you to feel as comfortable in your outfits as possible so that your authentic personality can shine through!
Opt for outfits that let you be the best version of your brand, and steer clear of anything that feels stuffy and doesn’t feel like something you’d wear in real life to an event! Although we can opt to go a tad bit dressier than you might day-to-day, we still want your outfit choices to feel relatable and true to life!
3. Bring options for clothes & shoes, accessories, and layers!
Here’s how we mix it up to get a lot of variety — even during a short period of time photographing!
Having accessories you can pull from — different outfits, shoes, accessories, and layers like cardigans or sweaters—gives your images the variety you need to pull from your library of images for months to come! I’ll help you mix and match your accessories during your session to get the most of our time photographing together!
4. Be sure to try on your outfits & accessories BEFORE the big day
Think dress rehearsal — but for your brand shoot! When planning your outfits, be sure to try every piece on together so you know exactly what your outfit is going to look and feel like before your branding session day! This will give you a chance to visualize what your final images will look like and make any wardrobe tweaks that you need before you show up to your shoot! Also, be sure to steam or iron your outfits ahead of time so you only have to worry about getting your hair and makeup done the morning of your shoot!
5. Let your personality shine through your outfits
Your brand is an extension of you, and your outfits should show off you and your personality! If you’re a laid-back jeans-and-tee kinda entrepreneur, embrace it. If bold patterns and accessories are your jam, bring ’em! Your brand photos should feel like a genuine reflection of who you are. So, let your personality take the spotlight through the outfits that you choose!
6. Don’t be afraid to bring two different styles of outfits
Feel free to switch up the vibe that you’re going for with your outfits during your session! Start with a professional look, then switch to a more casual vibe. Different outfits can speak to the different parts of your brand — professional and lifestyle! Your clients want to make a personal connection with you as well so don’t be afraid to lean into an outfit that showcases who you are outside of your business as well!
