I can’t believe how fast each week is passing by this fall! I think it’s due to the the busy fall season and cranking out as much work for photography as I can manage before I start my full time job with Accenture! Here’s a couple of highlights from the week:
– I booked my first ever elopement for next week at the cutest bed and breakfast! It’ll be at Chestnut Hill Bed & Breakfast with a small intimate ceremony! PLUS Latisha is doing a first look with her father which is the first time I’ll be capturing a father-daughter first look and I’m super excited for it!!
– I second shot with Chelsea again this weekend at the Ronald Reagan Building in D.C. which made it my first D.C. wedding and I absolutely loved it! She had asked me two weeks ago what kinds of weddings I wanted to specialize in and I had answered with an unsure “D.C. weddings maybe” but after helping out with Courtney & JJ’s day, I am a hundred percent SOLD on doing D.C. weddings!! The arches, cream walls, cobblestone, and ornate lamps made my photographer heart so happy and took me back to wandering around Paris
– I totally freaked out the morning of the wedding though because the metro was closed going in to D.C. and I thought I was going to be super late. Thankfully über pulled through my driver was insanely intrigued by the life of a wedding photographer haha 🙂
– National Taco Day was celebrated with Caity of Caity Kramer Photography at District Taco, taco afficionado! It was super fun to finally meet her in person after low-key Instagram stalking each other for a LONG time. Thank you Vanessa for being the bridge! I’m convinced we’re the same person: both going to be working full time jobs but eventually want to be wedding photographers, Nikon girls (!!!), Day Designer planner & organizational/systems addicts, messy eaters, and get nervous but super excited about everything! The only difference is she’s tall and I will forever be rocking #shortgirlproblems
– I have decided that after trying District Taco, Bartaco in Reston still definitely has my heart. I’m bummed that there’s not one in D.C. and I think that if they expanded out here they’d do really well (maybe because I would be there like once a week at least….)
– We did a roommate thing and went out to Happy Hour at Grand Cru Wine Bar in Ballston! I had tacos again, parmesan truffle fries and the Reisling! Would definitely recommend, especially the parmesan fries!! Disclaimer is that I put parmesan on everything though, so I’m a little biased
– Jontell and I are making progress on our fall themed styled shoot in Charlottesville!! For those that don’t know, a styled shoot is an inspirational idea for a wedding or wedding decor come to life! All sorts of vendors including photographers, planners, the venue, florists, cake makers, hair and makeup artists, invitation designers, bridal gown shops, and rental companies come together and volunteer their time and expertise for the day. We have a model (or friends!) dress up as the bride and groom and take their pictures along with documenting all the hard work of all the vendors and hopefully publish the shoot in online magazines! I’m super excited to get to work with a lot of new vendors, they all seem super sweet already over email. It’s going to make YAR weekend a little more crazy one but I can’t wait to see how our vision turns out (and to eat all the desserts afterwards)!
