This is gonna be a smaller post but I figured I should do one since I haven’t in a while and they’re kinda fun to do honestly! This week I took you behind the scenes of how I go about creating my blog posts that showcase my recent portraits & weddings! Blogging weddings is actually one of my FAVORITE parts of being a photographer, along with editing which is quite unusual for most photographers! But I love being able to take pictures from throughout the day, editing them to be consistent and then pairing them together and telling the story of the day through the flow of the blog post! But back to the highlights of the week:
- Having TWO free weekends in a row after working on 10 straight Saturday’s!!!!!! PUMPED would be an understatement 😀 It definitely helped me recover from being sick, get my apartment in good order again (I vacuumed and cleaned everything!!), and even COOK on the weekdays! These may seem like simple things but when you’re working full time and putting hours into your side hustle, the small things sometimes get left to the side!
- Speaking of cooking, I’ve been trying out Blue Apron so far and loving it! So far I’ve made chicken noodles and zucchini and white cheddar quesadillas and they were both SO GOOD!! This is kind of a huge breakthrough if you know me because 1. I never cook and 2. When I do, I’m generally TERRIBLE!! So to be able to easily create super tasty meals is CRAZY COOL for me! If only my brother were here to taste these meals now, the poor kid has had to deal with my terrible cooking for years and completely doubts my abilities now hahaha
- Rooting for the caps was SOO MUCH FUN!!! I’m not a huge fan of hockey at all but it was fun to cheer on a DC team that actually did well! Also it’s kinda fun to see the city come alive with so many fans which made it worth the crowded/crazy metro 🙂
- I bought an instax polaroid camera and I’m super excited about it!! Although I love taking really high quality pictures with my camera, that thing is a bit of a beast to lug around and I hate the liability of having something happen to it right before a shoot! So I often don’t end up documenting fun times hanging out with friends as much as I’d like (I ironically don’t enjoy taking pictures on my phone hahaha) but I’m hoping that I can just carry this little buddy around and take more pictures to document the little moments in life too!
- I’m heading to my third Jazz in the Gardens with friends and I’m super excited 🙂 I love the music, the atmosphere and how NOT incredibly hot it is yet before the real summer heat hits!
- So a lot of you know that I have a love for Bold Rock and I also have a love for their new flavor of rosé! They apparently also came out with a blackberry flavor as their summer staple and I can’t wait to try it out!! But in other news, I did celebrate national rosé day (although a day late) with what MAY be my favorite kind so far! The Wycliff rosé comes in close competition with King Family Vineyard’s crosé! But apparently my local Harris Teeter & Total Wine both don’t sell it, so if anyone comes across it please let me know!!
