As summer turned into fall and the world of creamy, dreamy summer light gives way to fall’s vibrant colors, I realized that I never happened to blog Alice & Sam’s bold winter barn wedding that I second shot with Vanessa Smith Photography at the beginning of the year! With the turn to fall and resurfacing of all things red, orange and yellow, I figured it was a good time to finally get this wedding up on the blog π
Although I love bright and airy summer weddings, I can really appreciate the pops of color from winter weddings. Alice & Sam were able to celebrate their big day with the first snowfall of 2017!!! It wasn’t anything too crazy, just a light coating of snow to make their wedding seem even more intimate and cozy at Wolf Trap Barns in Vienna, Virginia. Their entire day was incredibly relaxed, easy going, and effortless which is hard to believe since every detail is down to a T! I could not get over how amazing the reception area looked!!! There were candelabras as centerpieces with candles and florals EVERYWHERE, with the pops of red, forest green and plum throughout. If you know me, I am a sucker for candles and this wedding incorporated them so perfectly π
It reflected how warm and intimate the day was as Alice & Sam celebrated their wedding with good friends and family. The entire day was a classic fairy tale come to life. Alice & Sam did a mini first look in front of their family and it was one of the sweetest moments of the day π Alice looked STUNNING in her black wedding dress and although we only took a couple of minutes for portraits outside due to the snow, they’re some of my favorites! Nothing compares to a sweet couple in front of the soft sunset light. I could go on for hours trying to describe this day in words but I’m no poet and I think the pictures do it better justice!
