It’s customary of a bride to get henna done on her arms & feet a couple of days prior to the wedding. The drawing usually takes a couple of hours and must be taken good care of by dousing in coconut oil & lemon in order to leave a really nicely stained design. As soon as I came in I found Shahana in the corner of her living room with the application of the mehndi in full swing. I loved being able to grab detailed shots of the beautiful henna that Mehak drew for Shahana as well as her family & bridesmaids. The theme of the night paralleled the bridesmaids color scheme for the wedding & it was nice to see a beautiful preview!
All the girls kept commenting that Shahana looked like a princess with her dress, the mehndi & beautiful jewelry.
Everyone was prepared with designs they’d found online!
Loved the designs these girls picked out!!
She had the groom’s name hidden on her arm, how cool is that?!
After a night of lots of henna drawing, taking care of the henna, good food, and gold flash tattoos it ended with LOTS of pictures of all the bridesmaids & girls taking pictures with Shahana in front of a beautiful blue, teal & gold sari backdrop.
If you missed Shahana & Marc’s Roas definitely turn a page back and go see all the fun. And if you’re a fan of the purple & gold definitely take a peek at their Gaye Holud!
