It’s officially been ONE MONTH since graduation!!! It’s crazy because one month just flew by! There’s a lot of planning that goes into graduation: hotels get booked MONTHS in advance, just about every restaurant needs a reservation if you want to take your family out (we got saved by Basil on the corner & Pippin Hill!), you have to collect tickets for the Lawn ceremony individually from the ones for departmental ceremonies, moving out of our apartment, and trying to have fun amidst it all!! Because graduation from UVA really is a once in a lifetime thing :’) It’s an emotional rollercoaster throughout the entire weekend but you end up for the better on the other side! Also, I have NEVER seen so many balloons, celebrations, hugs, and overall JOY before in one place, it was the craziest & happiest thing to witness. Walking up the Rotunda, around and down across the Lawn (managing not to trip in wedges) surrounded by so many fellow graduates, waving and seeing so many happy tears from families, finding MY family, it’s just indescribable. You try to soak it all in and remember it for a lifetime. Thank you to my dad for taking all these pictures on our camera throughout the weekend! Scroll down for some happy moments & me making ridiculous faces π
These were from the Computer Science departmental ceremony in the afternoon after walking the Lawn on Sunday.
And some iPhone shots of #BTS to tell the whole story!!! This is everything from picking up another tassel, my Cognitive Science ceremony on Saturday, celebrating at Pippin Hill with my family & best friend, going to a rooftop bar for the first time ever, walking on the Rotunda and pictures from the actual ceremony!
It was such a crazy experience and I can’t wait to go back for graduation weekend at UVA for at least 2 years to come to watch others walk down the Lawn as I look on as a proud friend, girlfriend & sister π
