I met Suma my first year when we both joined the bhangra team my first year but really got to know her this year through dancing on the team! Suma is one of the most hardworking, thoughtful, and fun person I know. She’s also a photography major but never gets her pictures taken so I was glad she asked me to take hers for graduation! I’m so glad we got to take pictures of her with her BEAUTIFUL thesis work. We also ended up doing our photoshoot despite the torrential downpour and it was everything that she wanted for complete with dancing in the rain! This girl makes me like the rain and you’ll see why 🙂
This is her and her gorgeous thesis work on arranged versus love marriages from the view of her family. She went all the way to Richmond to get her pictures printed on actual saris that her family has worn in the past. Photos don’t really do these justice, I’m so glad I got to see her work in person twice!
This structure is kinda the coolest thing ever!
And these next ones are some of my favorite pictures ever in terms of lighting 🙂 The rain made for some pretty awesome photos right in front of the Drama Building for this Drama minor!
Suma I LOVED taking your graduation portraits by Arts Grounds! Thank you for always driving me to comps and practice (even though I live like five minutes away from the gyms), for sharing a love of coffee and late nights, and being one of the most dedicated dancers on our team this year (still amazed at how you pulled through at Nashville). I’m gonna miss you (and your penguin dashboard figure) so much next year. I wish you the very best and please, please come back and visit often!
