Alright, diving into the tips!
1. Strategic Business Planning
As you might already know – I am a HUGE fan of the quarterly planning process! This completely changed the way I started running my photography business (and started stepping into the role of CEO vs. just the employee) about 5 years ago. This process allows me to get a birds eye view of what’s working well and what needs to be tweaked in the business. It also allows me to set practical and achievable goals that I know I have the capacity and bandwidth to tackle in any given season.
2. Effective Marketing Strategies
I stress this with every single coaching client — but it’s SO IMPORTANT to know exactly which marketing strategy, avenue or platform is *actually* bringing you bookings. A lot of times we can spend our time focusing on a platform because that’s what the most talked about thing currently is in our industry — without really making sure that it’s what working for OUR own unique audiences. Make sure you’re pouring more of your time and energy into the avenues that are actually brining you couples!
3. Client Communications and Relationships
They key to a successful business is to build and maintain strong client relationships. Business really does come down to PEOPLE. People want to connect with YOU as a person before you as just another vendor. Scaling a successful photography business is dependent on your ability to communicate clearly with your clients, showcase your values and what you stand for, provide a stellar client experience and customer service. Listen to the video for more examples on what this can look like — and don’t forget to show off those client testimonials!
4. Balancing Work and Life
If you’re in this for the long haul, then the sooner you can work to create a strong work/life balance – the more sustainable you’ll be. It’s important to build your business in a way that supports your life — and doesn’t always constantly take from it. We chat through a few ways to work on this to avoid burnout in the video so be sure to tune in!
