Manali is a wedding photographer & educator based out of Charlottesville, VA. When she's not making couples laugh or teaching other photographers how to save time & grow their business, you can find her at a vineyard with wine & cheese in hand with her friends & fam!
Day two of Hope Taylor’s workshop started off with delving into marketing and structuring a senior representative photography program to elevate your business and specialize in senior photography! I actually ended up enjoying day two a lot more than I had originally anticipated since we got a lot of time to practice posing and all of the girls were super fun and sweet to work with! I loved being able to incorporate a tip that Hope gave us about using touch points such as the forehead, check, neck, waist and legs when posing arms because as you’ve probably noticed, the first thing we tend to forget how to do is place our hands when we’re giving a speech or getting photographed!
These are some of my favorite portraits that I’ve ever taken and I’m so excited to share them with you guys! You’ll see these pop up all over my website very soon if you keep an eye out. Not only were their outfits on point (they had two sets and chose the clothes themselves!!) but they had also gotten professional makeup done. And let me tell you, this is something that I usually advise my clients to do before a shoot but it hasn’t been something I stress a ton to them. But after taking these portraits I’m convinced that I should definitely suggest it more to my clients because itmakes a world of a difference in your images! Everyone is beautiful inside and out, I full heartedly believe that, but I also think we don’t get our photos professionally all too often and when you do you want to look your absolute best hair and makeup done by an artist will help you emphasize your features that you love! Even if you are doing your makeup at home I do recommend a slightly stronger foundation and an emphasis on your eye makeup and lashes since the eyes are where the human mind naturally focus on first! This is actually also the reason that when you see a professional portrait with a creamy background the eye closest to the camera is always tack sharp in focus! Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy scrolling through these gorgeous portraits 🙂
