Today’s conversation was with Rachael of Rachael Leigh Photos! I got to meet her at this past Creative At Heart Conference and have loved continuing to follow along with her & her branding work!
On the podcast we chatted all about the core parts of strong brands and practically how to stay true and authentic to your brand! This was one of the longer interviews that I’ve done so far because we had SO much to cover & a ton of great back and forth about the topic – and how it applies to our businesses in different ways!

08:27 “A great brand is able to articulate their why, the reason why they do what they do, and why they do it that way, in such a way that rallies everybody around the cause.”
10:49 “A strong brand knows their audience, and they know them well. They always create for them, make decisions for them, create offerings around them. They look at their needs and they create from that versus creating something and then hoping someone needs it.”
23:51 “There’s this push to just do what’s trendy and to not find our own way of doing it. We’re creatives, we function with a creative brain, so why are we like ‘okay I have to lump myself into this group of people this this is what’s working for them.'”
29:23 “As creatives we have a hard time putting on our business brains and making decisions from that, but if we did for long enough I feel like we would operate with so much more creativity and the space online would be so much more diverse.”
35:14 “Where does my personal life intersect with my brand, which intersects with my client’s lives, and becomes these intentional connection points that humanize my brand, but allow me to keep my personal life as personal life.”
