Gargi & Ankit
I’m so honored to have been able to spend time with these two sweet souls and to have captured their engagement portraits at Georgetown Waterfront!
Gargi & Ankit met at VCU right as they started off college almost SEVEN years ago! They had a couple of friends in common and had even met several times without thinking too much of it. Fate had it on one afternoon when their mutual friends got lunch together at none other than, a dining hall, in good ‘ol college fashion. Lunch turned into going to the gym together and Ankit wouldn’t leave that day until he had her number! They hit it off from there and every free moment was spent hanging out together around campus! Everything was going amazing as their new relationship took off, but they were conscious about their friend group and didn’t want to ruin their friendship. Because of this, they held off making their relationship completely official for a couple of months. To their friends it wasn’t official until just after their first semester in college during break, Ankit surprised Gargi in front of all of her friends, FOR HER BIRTHDAY!!!! So cute! From there on out, they were officially official! To this day though, they still celebrate their actual anniversary as that last day of their first semester before they told all their friends!
Just recently, after being together for six whole years, Ankit proposal and they became officially ENGAGED on the day of their 6th anniversary. Ankit had taken Gargi to Richmond under the pretense to hang out with friends and relive their college memories. But before they went to meet up with everyone, they went out to Maymont Park right around sunset. When Gargi arrived, the whole place was decorated with beautiful string lights, their pictures over the years and rose petals EVERYWHERE!! I wish I could have witnessed this in person because it sounds like the most romantic proposal ever! And as soon as Gargi saw it, she knew it was real and what was happening. What she didn’t know was that right after she said a big YES! to Ankit, all of her friends where there to come pouring out from hiding to celebrate the special moment together! They are so naturally cute together it’s no wonder that they’ve stayed together all these years and I’m so excited for them to be planning out their engagement part later this June!
How gorgeous is her dress?!
Are they not the cutest?! I asked Gargi which colors her engagement party was going to be decorated with and before I even heard her respond, I just KNEW it was going to be pink & gold which is so fitting for them!
