In the Sontakke family, there is one girl who’s a fan of flowers and it’s actually not me! That would totally be my mom! Somehow my mom’s love of flowers didn’t really translate to me over the years! I was the person who swore I’d have a paper floral bouquet and I never wanted flowers for Valentine’s day and Naveen knows not to get me flowers because I’ve TOLD him I’m not a huge fan. And don’t get me wrong, I definitely appreciate a beautiful wedding bouquet but I wasn’t someone that would obsess over them by any means. That was, until I came across Maribel’s work on Instagram. Guys, her work is beyond a doubt STUNNING. Seriously, go check her out on Instagram and you’ll see what I mean! It blew me away and ever since I started following her, weekend after weekend I would CONTINUE to keep falling in love with her floral design! So now, I consider myself a reformed flower lover!! I knew when I put together my styled wedding shoot in April, I just knew that Maribel had to be the one to put together the bouquet and centerpiece for our setup! I ended up taking the bouquet home and would catch myself staring over in sheer awe of how beautiful it was and how it made my room feel so homey for SO many days after the shoot!!
And the best thing about Maribel is not just her insanely creative talent, it’s her heart. She is the sweetest person to talk to! I had a good idea from our emails back and forth but when I met her in person, it was like meeting an old friend and the NICEST person on the planet! Also, she absolutely loves and adores her wedding brides and giving each one of them her full heart and focus is so important to her! She most definitely has her heart in the right place for serving her wedding clients π And you can also see that in how she treats her husband and her entire family! When she reached out to me about doing anniversary portraits of her and her husband I was SO honored to do so! But even more so, again, her heart behind wanting the shoot was what stood out most to me. She told me she loves being able to help her brides celebrate the beginning of their marriage but there is so much to a love story after the wedding day. There’s overcoming hard obstacles together and growing together and above all, staying in love as her and husband SO clearly are after all this time!
