Jontell’s Downtown Fredericksburg Portraits
I met Jontell in person last week and took some quick portraits in Downtown Fredericksburg! It was so nice to be able to talk to her in PERSON about all things business instead of over Messenger & FaceTime (as much as I love how convenient technology makes this). I so wholeheartedly believe in having a business “best friend” or “buddy” or even more like lifesaver and raft if we’re being completely honest! Jontell and I share pretty much EVERYTHING that’s happening in our businesses with each other, swing new ideas by each other and always consult each other when dealing with sticky situations that come up from time to time. It’s so invaluable to have someone to bounce off ideas off of, to tell you straight up when you’re being dumb or holding yourself back, or to give you a little less biased perspective on a complication in your business!
When you run a small business you are the only one making every decision that comes across your “desk” with little outside input or even a standard procedure to follow. Jontell is my sidekick in this regard and also provides me with endless support & encouragement to go after my bigger hopes and dreams for this business of mine. She was one of the few people that could keep me sane while I was juggling my full time job at Accenture, commuting 3 hours a day AND running the business as another full time job on the side all at once! She constantly helped me keep things in perspective and it’s hard to put into words just how valuable it is to have someone who can do that in your life!
I think both of us will tell you that neither of our business would still be running were it not for the other person speaking wisdom into our lives. I never thought that this would be the result of meeting another photographer for Pigeon Hole brunch almost four years ago when photography was hardly even on my radar as a professional career choice! THANK YOU Jontell for the thousands of Messenger conversations back and forth about business but also about LIFE!
