CAITLYN & JOHN
Caitlyn and John met by chance one day and had their beautiful wedding nestled in the mountains just this past weekend! Both of them happened to be working for Virginia Tech’s Turfgrass Research Center in Blacksburg during the same time but they never crossed paths until one day when Caitlyn got to MEET the person who had been collecting all the field data she had been analyzing over the past couple of months! Caitlyn knew from the first couple of days from meeting John that she had come across someone extremely special. John was a grounded, simple, kind and loving man and they happened to agree over little things to big things when it came to religion, politics, and what they valued most in life. John loved Caitlyn’s adventurous spirit and was drawn to her for it!
These two had been waiting for their wedding day for a little while and it was such an honor to be able to finally capture their big day at St. Mary’s Church in Blacksburg where they had the most customized Catholic ceremony I’ve ever witnessed to their reception which took place at the research center where they had first met! I loved that they got to see each other early on in the day and you could see just how loved they were by all of their bridal parties reactions to these two FINALLY seeing each other as Caitlyn walked down the aisle to John. The deacon thanked each and every group that had brought these two together from their grandparents, to their parents, to the various family and friends in the audience that were there to witness and celebrate the beginning of their marriage on June 29th, 2019. So much of this day was truly put together by Caitlyn and her family. The florals for their ceremony were done by Caitlyn’s aunt, John picked the boutonniere flowers and Hailey, one of the bridesmaids, taught everyone how to make them! Caitlyn decided to incorporate the sunflowers and her mom brought the entire vision to life. The sweetest part though was hearing about how Caitlyn decided to place her bouquet at her grandfather’s grave after the wedding day.
It’s hard to describe such a beautiful wedding day with so many laughs, so many tears of joy, the biggest hugs and the sweetest moments throughout. Their wedding day was truly a reflection of them from the sunflower details, to pictures of their lost ones sprinkled throughout the day in remembrance, freshly made pizza at their reception from one of John’s local hometown pizzerias in Floyd, to all their guests snuggling up with Hazel, their puppy! It was truly so much fun to celebrate alongside these two and watch my high school friend marry the love of her life!! I wish you two the most magical adventure of marriage for every day forward starting with adventuring together at Jasper and Banff for your honeymoon!!!
