I’ve known Chloe since she was in high school so to watch her marry her best friend, John, at their Reston wedding at the Lakehouse just down the street from where we went to high school was surreal! It was SUCH an honor to be chosen to capture their beautiful lavender spring wedding day!
I had to try so hard not to tear up watching Chloe get ready in her parents’ home and wearing heirloom jewelry! And then again as John walked down the aisle with his grandmother. It was the SWEETEST moment! Both Chloe & John’s grandmothers were able to make the wedding and it was such incredible to see everyone celebrating despite the recent fear and uncertainty around the world. Watching John’s reactions seeing Chloe walk down the aisle is something I’ll never forget. It’s moments like this in life that you really remember for YEARS. Memories that I’m so grateful that I get to preserve through photography. I’ll never get over the honor of being able to do that!
Multiple people mentioned this during their day, but looking at how John & Chloe look at each other, you can so obviously. They are so important to each other and their family is so important to them! Everyone was so close-knit, so many people came up to speak and give a toast to the couple. For a lot of my couples, treating their family well is something that they’ll bring up over a year before in their consult with me. The importance and the meaning of their wedding day not to just them as a couple but to both of their families. We made sure to carve out time for what matters most and take a TON of family pictures since Chloe & John didn’t know the next time they would have both of their sides of the family together ever in the same place. It was incredible that they made it happen! I’m so glad that we carved out some extra time to make sure that every member felt well-loved & that we got lots of pictures of everyone together!
I’ll let the rest of the pictures speak for themselves. Chloe & John, thank you SO much again for being incredibly kind, the best couple to work with & allowing me to help you guys plan out the most beautiful day!
