This will hands down be my favorite shoot of 2020 and probably my favorite proposal ever because I’m biased and that girl down there is my BEST friend! We’ve known each other since before I was even two years old and to say we grew up together and that her family is like my family would be an understatement!
I may have done a little happy dance when Manavi’s email landed in my inbox! I saw her get engaged to Quan and was SO so happy when she reached out about wedding photography for their June Poplar Springs Manor wedding next year! They’ll be having a bit of a fusion wedding but have a Baraat through the poplars for them to see each other!!
I photographed Abhi & Anuj’s wedding day pictures last week! It was a CRAZY turnaround time because Abhi reached out on Monday and we photographed their pictures after their ceremony on Thursday!! That’s LESS than a week!! It turned out beautifully though! Initially, we were going to take images at the Hindu Temple in Sterling but after seeing the rain in the forecast, we decided to move the pictures a little later in the day and decided to take them in their backyard in Ashburn.
After years of photographing weddings of all different kinds, I’ve come to realize that there’s one VERY important thing that really does affect what a wedding day feels like for the bride & groom as well as their family and bridal party! People are always surprised to hear that I work with my couples to help them craft a wedding day timeline right after they book me!
As spring rolls around and the weather warms up, I’m dreaming of getting back out to the beautiful Charlottesville vineyards! This is something that I’m really looking forward to post-quarantine and I think it’d be a GREAT way to celebrate being able to get back out and about whenever we are able to safely do so!
I’ve known Chloe since she was in high school so to watch her marry her best friend, John, at their Reston wedding at the Lakehouse just down the street from where we went to high school was surreal! It was SUCH an honor to be chosen to capture their beautiful lavender spring wedding day!
Every so often you have a wedding day that you know BEFORE is going to be incredibly emotional & heartfelt. Margaret & Brian were officially married on November 24th during Thanksgiving Week and had a small intimate wedding in their home so that Margaret’s dad would be able to witness his daughter’s marriage before he passed away. They pulled the ENTIRE thing together in about 5 hours so that her dad would be able to be awake and witness it before he passed.
