Call me nosy but I used to always be curious as to how business owners organized each week! It’s easy to see a long (and sometimes never-ending) to-do list and wonder how people organize & prioritize it to tackle it! This week’s blog post is for photographers that want an inside peek as to how to organize your weeks to tame that to-do list!
When I was first starting out I was trying to figure out what my photography aesthetic was. As much as I tried, I always felt like I was SLIGHTLY off the mark of what I was visualizing in my head. I would tweak the white balance, the tint, the exposure, contrast and everything but I couldn’t figure out how to get my images to all look consistent with each other!
Where would my life be without checklists and systems in place? Not entirely sure but it DEFINITELY would be very chaotic. My brain LOVESS to get distracted with all the things, all the education and all the ideas! Systems help me stay on top of tasks, keep all my information organized & easy to access, and ensure a smooth and consistent client experience across the board! I use a combination of Trello, Google Calendar, HoneyBook and my Simplified Planner to keep track of my monthly, weekly and daily to-do’s.
Let’s bust the myth that email templates are TERRIBLE because they don’t let you personalize your client experience. I would actually argue the exact opposite! I think setting up email templates is one of the things that helped me grow my business quickly even while working a full-time job!

Providing a great client experience is one of my FAVORITE parts of being a wedding photographer and just a creative business owner in general! I truly believe that personal referrals are the strongest and best source of business that you can get.
